Abstract

The following text focuses on the book Understanding of Salvation, which was published by Bernhard Welte in the year 1966. The notion of salvation is a core idea in Christian revelation: God reveals Himself as salvation for the human person, as an individual one and also as mankind. In this sense, the concept of salvation has its roots in the structure of human existence: to every person belongs some notion of his/her own whole being, of a whole being of other persons and a whole being of the world as such. Understanding of being is therefore an understanding of salvation. This fullness appears in human understanding as a free donation of a divine You; the Christian experience calls it Grace.

    César Lambert Ortiz es Profesor adjunto del Instituto de Filosofía de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Es doctor en filosofía por la Universidad de Friburgo (Alemania); profesor de filosofía y licenciado en la especialidad por la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Su área de investigación está centrada en la fenomenología de Edmund Husserl y Martin Heidegger, así como en la interrogante acerca del rol que la muerte desempeña en la existencia humana.
